When Walt Disney opened Disneyland in 1955 he made a (very) short speech. He said:

To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past…and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America…with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.

That’s very much how I feel about writing The LQ Leader.

Because, more than anything, I want you to have a happy place that just happens to be your workplace. And I know that the only way that can happen is if you have the insight to make you feel safe in using your knowledge, skills, experience, drive and ingenuity to make your workplace dreams come true.

As for what Disney said, well, we’re not Disneyland. What you read here won’t always be happy - but it will always be positive.

And those bits about savoring the challenge and promise of the future? The ideals, dreams and hard facts that have created success - not just in America? And being a source of joy and inspiration to all the world?

Yeah. Definitely. To all of that. And more.

That’s where I come in - because I’ve got decades of guiding executives and Boards worldwide in doing exactly that:

Creating workplaces that…finally…achieve the look, feel, abilities and success they had envisioned.

It won’t be easy. Honest, integrity-based, measurable, long-term change never is.

But I’ll be right here with you - helping you along. Every step of the way.

So, welcome to the LQ Leader. It’s a pleasure to have you here.
